View Full Details of Helping Hands Home Care (Colchester)My mother has had care visits every day from Helping Hands Home Care for the last year and they've been largely fantastic - responsive to feedback and alert to Mum's needs. The carers themselves have all been lovely and dealing with Helping Hands at the office level has been really professional too. We've had a great experience and they helped us out hugely at a very difficult time.
Carers are always cheerful and do the tasks listed. Unfortunately, they rarely stray from the path and pick up rubbish on the floor or items of clothing that are obviously not meant to be on the floor. Change of carers is not notified. Have requested certain times which change for a week then timings go back to those which aren't suitable. New and replacement carers need to ask if they don't know something There also needs to be some education on recycling. Very few carers know what to recycle, even though they live in the area themselves!
I am very satisfied with the care and attention I have received.
We needed to agree an extension to the care arrangements for my mother. The manager visited my mother with me there and talked through what extra help was needed. He was very understanding and put my mother at ease and she felt happy and confident to proceed with the arrangements. All the staff at Helping Hands, (the carers and the team in the office) have been so lovely and supportive to my mother which we both greatly appreciate.
I had carers twice a week at that time but now I have them once a week as I have progressed a little more. They have a can-do mentality and have always done what was needed or asked of them. If I wasn't happy with them, I would vote with my feet.
My regular carers are the very best in the home care service. They all go the extra mile for me. They always leave me in a far more happy condition and confidence on their departure. I am so lucky to have them in my life.
