View Full Details of New Hope Care (Stockport)We have been using New Hope Care for over a year now and the carers have been providing care and support for Mum daily. The carers are very considerate of Mum's requirements. They are professional, respectful and kind and also happy to have a chat and a laugh with Mum which she enjoys. The manager and office team are also friendly and approachable. They have accommodated any changes that have been necessary. Communication has been excellent They also try to arrange that Mum has the same regular carers visiting, which we really appreciate so much. We highly recommend it.
The manager's team provided care for my father in the last few years of his life. He had dementia and was also becoming increasingly frail and unsteady. New Hope carers' regular visits through the day meant that he could stay in his own home rather than having to enter a care facility, which meant a great deal to him. He looked forward to the visits, which of course served a vital social function as well as a practical one. There was always good communication between myself and the New Hope office, so any challenges that arose day-to-day could be resolved quite quickly. As a separate task, New Hope were able to provide a cleaner, so his house was kept in good order.
New Hope Care has been providing care for my mum who is in her later years of dementia in her own home coming on 2 years now. The most important part of my mother’s care package is consistency and care staff who are very familiar with her care plan as she has complex needs which New Hope ensures they maintain. After 5 years I recently had a week trip away which was much needed and New Hope took all my worries away by ensuring the same familiar care staff covered all the calls for my mum ensuring consistent care was provided. I returned to find my mother comfortable, happy and safe in her home. New Hope has worked hard to provide the necessary support and care for my mother in order to ensure she can continue to live independently in her home. For that, I am so grateful. Thank you to the manager and all the care staff for your continued support.
New Hope Care carers have cared for my mother at home since her discharge from the hospital. The management team respond immediately to phone calls and email message requests. They have attempted to schedule the same carers as regularly as possible, so a trust has built up. They have managed all prescribed medications for the carers to administer at the correct times. Carers write up a report following each visit which are posted straight away on an app so everything is transparent, and if there are any concerns these can be addressed. It has been very reassuring to have such a professional and competent team to assist and care for my mother.
New Hope provided my mother with live in carer's for the last twelve months of her life and for three day stints for a couple of months before that, as we all got to grips with the situation. The carers were very affectionate giving Mum hugs on their arrival, which was very important for Mum as she had lost her sight. I felt it was all well organised and efficient as having people come in on a two week turnaround is challenging. They looked after Mum's needs very well ensuring her day to day requirements were met. My only negative was that the accounts department initially were haphazard in invoicing and incorrectly charged one month. The manager at Stockport was very friendly, supportive of the family and helpful when resolving the accounting issue.
New Hope Care (Stockport) provided quality and reliable care for my mother over 5 years. During that time my mother’s care needs increased and New Hope Care were flexible and responsive to my mother’s changing needs and increased the care provision as required. The staff were friendly, caring, reliable and honest and my mother was fond of them all. For the last 2 months of her life, live-in care was needed and this was arranged at short notice and my mother was cared for by New Hope to the end. My brother and I live some distance from our mother and it was a great comfort to know there was local reliable help for her. I would recommend New Hope Stockport to anyone looking for care for an elderly relative from just pop-in “social” visits to 24-hour care.
Unfortunately, my experience with this care provider was not good. On 30th May 2023, I felt my father's care was not to the required standard. Neither the carer on the day or the manager contacted me regarding my father's condition. He was admitted to the hospital and some days later he passed away due to hospital-acquired pneumonia. A safeguarding concern was raised by the Ambulance Service and a meeting later held to address the issues. Sadly I was not asked to attend. An inquest is to be held later in the year regarding the incidents which led to my father's death. I feel lessons need to be learned by this provider following the incident.
