View Full Details of Home Instead (Dorchester)She is always on time. She is a quick worker and always remembers where everything is and what she should do. Jack of all trades e.g. she was able to replace a light bulb for me. She is pleasant to have around.
Home Instead has provided quality care and assistance to my aunt, whose life circumstances have changed significantly in the past year, requiring more intensive care whilst still remaining at home. The management and staff have been very responsive to their client's circumstances and requests and have tailored their management plan to cater, as best as possible, to my aunt's needs. I was visiting the UK and during the short period we were in the area, we were able to meet with Home Instead and put in place a care plan that would cater for my aunt's future needs as and when they arose. The management team have continued to impress with their careful handling of a number of tricky issues along the way, each of which have been professionally managed and dealt with. Although I live overseas, Home Instead have been very forthcoming in keeping me informed of current issues, for which I am very grateful. Home Instead are doing a great job. Highly recommend!
All round excellent and unique organisation that specialises in enabling people needed care to stay independent at home for as long as possible. Very rapid response, great staff, both carers and management - Home Instead personnel were able to step in at short notice, in difficult circumstances to put in place an at-home care package that's been great for my family. Easy to navigate, transparent paperwork - very down-to-earth, hands-on and adaptive method - able to respond to evolving situations. Experienced and lovely carers, more like friends and family. Many thanks to the staff behind the scenes and all the carers who get a good balance of efficiency and compassion, and endless patience and humour. So far so good. I would (and have) recommend Home Instead to anyone needing support at home. Thank you.
A good, caring, supportive service provided by both care staff and the management team. We were able to get the care in place in a short space of time which provided peace of mind at a difficult time.
I share a house and care for a 74-year-old friend. As children, we lived around the corner from each other and have known each other ever since. I was his best man and am his son's godfather. My friend has Alzheimer's in its early stages and mobility issues. He also has incontinent bowels and a catheter. I found helping him shower, getting him into clean incontinence pants and helping him dress in the mornings difficult. Since last autumn, Home Instead has been coming in for an hour each morning to do it for us. They also change his bedding when required and his catheter day bag every week. They are unfailingly cheerful. They normally don't need the full hour and will stop and chat when finished. They show interest in both of our backgrounds, hobbies and interests.
Initially my father was supported by the same carer from Home Instead daily, who understood his needs and built up a positive relationship with him. Sadly, the care and response from different carers over the past two months since she left the company has been inconsistent and generally poor. They have failed to understand and adapt to his decline in health and no relationship has developed. As I am his main carer and we share a home, I am able to see what has and has not been done during visits according to his care plan and how his basic care needs have not been met regularly. Staff show up on time, but appear to lack training/initiative to note/report changes in health and adapt their response. In consultation with an external health care service support staff, I have made the decision in his best interests to move care providers. The response to reported issues from office staff was not helpful and did nothing to improve the standard of care shown to my father.
Our carers are regular and always calm and efficient. They deal with the situation each day and can be relied upon to help my husband with most personal care he needs whilst keeping his dignity. We feel privileged to have them in our home. We value their knowledge and expertise.
I find Home Instead as a company very friendly, the staff are caring and make me feel at ease. The management team go above and beyond their duty. Great value for money. Highly recommended.
The manager and the team have been really accommodating and communication superb. All the carers seem to go above and beyond for Mum. Much as Mum can complain sometimes I know she loves you all and wouldn’t be without you. Thank you team, keep doing what you are doing.
Home Instead care professionals have looked after my elderly aunt for the last 18 months providing, in my view, high-quality, compassionate and empathetic care and support. They provide an invaluable service that allows my aunt to remain in her own home and live as independently as possible. There is a warm rapport between my aunt and the care professionals and they are always happy to go the extra mile for her. I would not hesitate to recommend Home Instead.
I have found the carers most kind, helpful and supportive, they have improved my well being physically and mentally. They have been kind and supportive of my wife. Their friendship has been very important to both of us. We will miss them. Many thanks to all the team.
My sisters and I were very pleased with the quality of carers provided by Home Instead. They were professional at all times, communicated well via the App for feedback on their sessions and were very kind and caring.
Having been recommended Home Instead for my mum who has Vascular dementia, I am really happy with how she has responded to such good care. Our initial meeting with the Care Supervisor was so calm, she made us feel so relieved as it's a stressful time to see your parent change so radically, she made mum laugh and feel at ease. Mum has always been very chatty and fun, but when dementia escalated and her husband passed away the loneliness made her unhappy, the carers offer her companionship with some help and guidance on self-care and food preparation. They are very patient and this gives us as a family peace of mind. We have care twice a day now and they are making it possible for mum to stay in her home and the street she knows.
We engaged with Home Instead Dorchester for live-in care to support our elderly parent with daily living tasks. We have been extremely impressed by the high standard of professionalism from the lovely carer, and the whole team that we've had the pleasure to work with. Our parent is feeling more confident again and looking rosier, plumper and able to engage with more tasks again. We cannot thank this wonderful carer enough for her patience, positive approach and careful encouragement of independence at all times.
The team have been incredibly responsive to our requirements for our father; they have also been very compassionate and understanding. I won't hesitate to recommend them to anybody who is looking for care.
My mother's carer is delightful - always on time and with a smile! Mum feels really comfortable with her as do all of us - she's very approachable! Love having the visit review notes to read as well/makes us feel connected.
The Home Instead team are doing a great job supporting Mum, who is housebound at this time, which is great for her and a weight off my mind. The carers have built up a good bond with Mum, which is vital to her being able to live independently, which is what she wants.
The care my mother receives from Home Instead has enabled her to stay in her own home knowing that she has help with the tasks she can no longer do herself. The carers also provide much needed companionship and give me reassurance that someone is checking in every day. On the whole the care provided is excellent with the carers respectful and mindful of my mother's needs. They do a great job in the currently difficult social care environment. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
Home Instead have provided excellent care for my Mother over the last 8 months. They have been very sensitive to her needs and carers are very professional, the communication with carers themselves and the office is very good. Any issues or questions are dealt with swiftly and as I live a distance away it is very reassuring to know they are contactable and responsive to any queries.
Home Instead provided live-in carers so that Mum was able to stay in her own home, which helped so much as dementia increasingly affected her. The carers were on a two weeks on, two weeks off rota and the care she received was exceptional. They treated her with the same gentleness, thoughtfulness and affection they would have given their own grandmother, and it was lovely to see. The carers liaised with District Nurses to make sure Mum received the medication and treatments she needed. The live-in carers had a two-hour break each day and this was covered by other carers, which meant Mum had a series of lovely, kind and friendly people to talk with every day. I always had complete confidence in the management team. As well as organising the carers, they ensured the provision of hospital equipment, so that Mum could be moved safely from bed to living room. I always felt that I was also cared for by the management team. They were so friendly, kind and supportive when I needed it.
