View Full Details of Better at HomeI was pleased with the service we had in the evening. Very polite & efficient carers. I was not so pleased with service my husband received in the mornings though. Carer did not come till 11am, not good as my husband has a catheter & the night bag which needed to be empty earlier in the morning as it could cause an infection.
Better at Home have cared for my 94-year-old father for about 18 months. During this time he has had both live-in care, and domiciliary care, of 4 visits a day. The care he has received has been outstanding. Each live-in carer has been professional, kind and friendly, and done their utmost to make his life comfortable and pleasant. He has enjoyed some excellent cooking, and care was always taken to understand his likes and dislikes. We also could see that the house was kept in perfect order, with washing, and housekeeping. After a stroke, he became very frail, and the compassion and kindness the domiciliary staff showed him was so kind and moving and we will forever be grateful. We always promised our father that he would stay in his own home and Better at Home made this possible. The personal interaction we received from the company's management over the 18 months was much appreciated. Thank you to all of you.
My mother has Alzheimer's so has 4 visits/day for personal care. My father also cares for my mother, but he has bipolar disorder and my mother can be challenging so the carers check that he's okay. Generally, the care has been excellent and we would not be without it. My father has a very good relationship with two of the carers - we have mentioned that they cope well with my mother. I think that has resulted in them being assigned to her, wherever possible. My parents are well looked after - the house is clean and they both appear in good spirits when I visit. There have been one or two issues my father has reported - carers smoking, a glass of water thrown on my mother, carers being a bit heavy-handed, coming too late in the morning (leaving mum for 15 hours in a wet bed). The agency did their best to sort the issue out quickly. Nothing can be perfect - my mother can be extremely challenging - we appreciate the effort made to make her and my father's care as good as it can be.
Over the years, Mum has had several care providers of which Better at Home has been the best. Better at Homeh has looked after my mother and stepfather for the past two years. With their encouragement, Mum has been the best she has ever been. Her self-esteem and independence grow day by day. Staff are polite, curious and kind. Always willing to go the extra mile. No task is too much. Always willing to assist in difficult situations. I can't thank Better at Home enough for all their input and encouragement for Mum.
Very pleasant staff, attentive and very professional. If supplies are needed, they are very good at notifying us. Mum seems to get on with them very well and we are very happy with the way things are.
My mother had become very ill and was undergoing tests for a diagnosis. Having already had the incredible staff from Better at Home to help nurse my Dad through the last months of his life, the family once again turned to them to help out with supporting Mum. After a thorough, caring meeting, it was agreed that one of the local carers would call in twice a day to cook meals, do a bit of light housework and essentially sit with Mum to give her the company and reassurance that she needed. Happily Mum got her diagnosis and started to respond to the medication prescribed for her and little by little as she became stronger, the support from Better at Home was no longer required. I would highly recommend the diligence and professional care provided by the tight-knit team and the extended support given to the family as well. Thank you all!
The carers at Better At Home are wonderful people. So caring and professional giving my elderly mum the dignity she deserves in her twilight years. They welcome support and any ideas we have as a family. I'm very happy to recommend all the caring staff my mum has come into contact with.
Really pleased to say my dad is happy with the care and attention he receives. He likes all the carers and says they have his best interest at heart. I am really pleased to have a good connection with one of the carers who personally keeps me informed which really helps us be on top of appointments and treatment needed.
Both my parents, sadly, have Alzheimer’s - Better at Home provides live-in care for them. I have a very good relationship with the carer, she treats my parents with kindness, respect and dignity. I feel that she genuinely cares about them and she is also competent, conscientious, trustworthy and reliable. I also have a very good relationship with the manager, with whom I can contact at any time - if, for example, I want to ask for advice regarding my parents' health and well-being which has been of great help and reassurance to me. She is knowledgeable and takes the time to explain things, I never feel a concern or question I have is too small. I look forward to the whole team's continued support and care for my beloved parents.
A very happy experience. I enjoy the consistency of the care I receive on a daily basis, especially from one carer, in particular, she is always professional and polite. I know I don’t have to worry about anything because my carers are reliable.
We started using your services when my husband came home from hospital eighteen months ago and decided to continue with them as we were very pleased. All the carers are lovely, very caring and thoughtful and hard-working. Cannot recommend them too highly!
I need support and help around my home to enable me to remain as independent for as long I can with the disabilities I have. This company is run by very caring and compassionate people who will go that extra mile. The heart is in everything carried out in my home and I am treated with respect and dignity. The service is highly recommended. I feel so privileged to welcome them into my home and look forward to the visits.
