View Full Details of Helping Hands Home Care (Letchworth)Contacted Helping Hands Home Care (Letchworth) to discuss care for my mother, this was on a short-term basis, but with the possibility that flexibility for longer-term care may be needed. The manager was extremely helpful, listened to what we required and was accomodating of our requests. Carers were very professional and caring, this was very important as it was the first time my mother had required carers and was naturally apprehensive. Following this positive experience I would not hesitate to use Helping Hands again if required.
Some of the carers are friendly, helpful and work hard, but others less so. Some have better cleaning and ironing and household skills than others. I have not been made aware of any system to report back to me about visits to my parents.
I find Helping Hands reliable and always turn up within the stated time frame. All the carers are friendly and considerate of what I need to help me. I like that new staff members shadow another carer so that they have a good indication of what to do if they are scheduled on my rota. The office staff are available if I have any issues and are efficient and friendly too.
New to Helping Hands, found the office very helpful in determining our needs and very flexible over changes as needs changed. Have continued using support through to January 2023, with one exception, all carers have been caring and professional. In some cases, there is a tendency to talk down to my wife, which is noticed but tolerated. The ratings make it difficult to rank, as not all staff are equal.
I am very happy with my carer, she is lovely and very helpful. I have had a good experience with Helping Hands so far.
I rely on Helping Hands to take care of my wife while I carry out tasks of a wide variety. So far it has worked very efficiently.
My life in a nutshell - I am 96 years old, a widower, with a physical disability which broadly affects my mobility. I was away from home for 8 weeks due to illness. Eventually, I would come home to face nothing but deadly silence and emotional loneliness. However, my family have been very busy they have found an organisation called Helping Hands. It was December 2019 they offered daily visits. They give me help, they turned my life around. Today they are my second family called Helping Hands.
