View Full Details of Alina Homecare Bristol SouthVery helpful and friendly staff, nothing negative to report. From the first visit of introducing themselves they have been very efficient and professional. The app is a brilliant idea as you can see when the visit is completed and what they have done. Would highly recommend Alina homecare.
I'm happy with the service provided but am concerned that Mum feels unable to ask the carers to do stuff for her. She cut her wrist the other day but instead of asking the carer to attend to it phoned a neighbour to come round. She is also always complaining about how expensive it is but the charges are typical. All the carers I have met whilst at Mum's have been very pleasant and Mum is obviously comfortable with them so her reluctance to ask for assistance is puzzling and may be purely to do with her erroneous (in my opinion) fear of cost.
Carers are amazing. Kind, supportive and responsive. Always respectful and on time. It hasn’t been easy to make initial contact with administration as I didn’t have an email address and phoning wasn’t an option. That is now in place. Hence only 4 stars
I have been with Alina for nearly 3 1/2 years and have been generally pleased with the service. Unfortunately as is the case, I believe, with most care services, the turnover of staff is frequent and obviously some people become used to visiting my husband and then leave; this is quite difficult for him and me. Overall though the staff are well trained, caring and respectful and a pleasure to have in our home.
We contacted Alina Homecare Bristol South to assist with an elderly member of the family who has dementia and lives alone, who was having a cataract procedure that needed support with aftercare (eyedrops for a month). Aside from community meals, this family member had been unwilling to accept any form of in-home support. We saw the requirement for having people come in to administer eye drops as an opportunity, in as much as building a trusting relationship that we could take forward, to encourage visits that continued once the course of eye drops had finished. As the month has progressed, the family member has gone from being resistant to any help to looking forward to the visits, telling us that they are such lovely people and that they will miss them when they don't come every day. This has enabled us to get agreement from the family member to continue having carer visits, on a weekly basis in order to help with her household jobs. Cannot recommend Alina Bristol South highly enough.
This service has been satisfactory for our needs.
I became concerned about the monthly invoicing, I thought it was unclear what I was paying. The time spent with us and a standard attendance just did not add up. So I discussed with the management team at Bristol South, presented my view and they not only corrected the financial picture but have taken the extra step to improve the invoice layout, couldn't ask for more.
Some carers provide a better service than others, but overall I think a good service is provided. Sometimes a reminder is needed because my mum is sometimes slow to identify what she needs, but things mostly get done. My mum values as much as anything the daily contact with a human being able to chat. Some carers have been outstanding.
Alina provided care to my mother who was suffering with dementia. They were very accommodating in trying to find a schedule which worked for mum. They tried to be as flexible as possible and at times went out of their way to support mum as best they could. They always let me know when things were not quite right and they were always available to discuss options of how we could support mum. Everyone came across as caring and with a genuine concern for mum. I would definitely recommend them.
Alina looked after my mother for about 7 months. During this time they have been wonderful and the care and attention given has been professional and compassionate. Nothing was ever too much and I know that my mother valued the support and companionship that they gave her. Alina's support also meant that we were able to spend quality time with mum and I am not sure how we would have coped without them, we would never have been able to have mum stay at home, as she wanted. We will always be grateful for their help and support throughout this time.
My morning carer is very good. She looks after me very well. We also have a good laugh together which to me is important. We have built up a good relationship. All the other carers are good and the care I receive is good all round.
My carer is outstanding, thoughtful, kind, with a lovely sense of humour. She goes above and beyond to help me. The best carer I've ever had.
Very caring. I would like my carers to be the same person as I get confused as to who is coming.
The overall standard is satisfactory although there are some instances where I feel I'm being rushed, especially the evening call. I feel the office management could be more helpful as they are very abrupt if you need to speak to them.
From the first phone call to the office to the last carer saying “Goodbye“ to my parents, the staff of Alina were professional caring and respectful to my elderly parents who both have Dementia and very frail. They were always punctual and had a smile and made time to sit with my parents and also the family giving us support, they would also ask if there was any more they could do for them. The staff do their job because they are very caring people and should take pride in themselves and are a credit to the caring industry. I would recommend using this company as they started as carers and in the end, they were Mum and Dad's friends. Thank you Alina.
Alina Homecare are now a big part of my mum's daily routine. I have nothing but praise for the amazing carers who visit her. Since December 2021she has required three visits per day after a fall, which resulted in an infection but Mum wouldn't go into hospital. Alina have been caring, reliable and bring a smile to my mum's face most days, it works both ways from feedback I have been given! Mum now has the same carer most early mornings and lunch visit which she finds a big help as the carer knows her ways and her limitations. As a daughter, I feel Mum is in good hands and it takes a big weight off knowing Alina are visiting. If the office do have to make any visit or time changes their communication is very good, contacting myself or Mum. In a nutshell, I have only good things to say about Alina and I know my mum and our family would be lost without them. Mum has made an amazing recovery which I am sure wouldn't have been possible without Alina's support.
Excellent.
My mum has improved tremendously since Alina started to visit. I felt they took time to understand mum's wishes, character, likes, and dislikes. They have tried as far as possible to provide continuity, even when we increased the frequency of visiting. Mum has been well-matched with 2 main carers who manage to balance sympathy with gentle persuasion and encouragement to do what she can for herself. When her care needs changed I was able to explain concerns I had to the office who took note and acted on my concerns. The app is brilliant so I know how mum is before I phone her for a check. I have spoken briefly to the carer the first few visits as I live 90 miles away and she was polite and reassuring. Highly recommended.
Fantastic service. Everyone I have had contact with is professional/polite and punctual. They are all brilliant and nothing is too much trouble. So glad I found this agency.
All our carers had different levels of skills in all areas of caring. My husband was always treated kindly, sympathetically, and with respect. We formed close relationships through trust and communication.
