View Full Details of Gracious Healthcare Services LtdAlthough it was only for a short time my father and I cannot speak too highly of the care and attention given to my mum by all the carers during her last few weeks. The carers always acted professionally and with kindness when caring for her. It was a great comfort and relief for us, especially my father, to see Mum was being so well attended to and looked after during this difficult time.
Carers, that's a joke. They were more interested in playing with their mobile phones. etc, than caring for their patient, my wife. One of the so-called carers thought she was the queen bee. She was more interested in rearranging the furniture to suit her own comfort and needs. At one point I was asked if I had any female sanitary pants. Gracious had run out. I should have been at my wife’s side not shopping for sanitary pads. A District Nurse came in to allow me to go shopping. On my return, the nurse said she found that my wife needed to be catheterised. The nurse drained a large quantity of urine. The nurse showed me and I drained her again her 4 more times whilst the Gracious Healthcare Services carers sat there playing on their Mobile Phones. But then, why should the carers, employed by Gracious Healthcare Services bother about the person they are being paid to care for, when the idiot paying them, is doing their job, for them.
Gracious Healthcare stepped in to care for my mum when we needed it most. My mum suffered from Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and the level of care and support she needed gradually increased as her disease progressed. Gracious and the ladies that surrounded and supported my mum were nothing short of wonderful. They always treated my mum with compassion, no matter how difficult communication with Mum became, they always found a way to keep a smile on her face. They kept in regular contact with my brother and me and were just as much a support for us as they were for my mum. I cannot stress enough just how much they were there for everyone, they are extraordinary. They always made sure Mum's hair and makeup were done and kept on top of her vast medication and prescriptions, highlighting issues with the doctor when needed. They organised her healthcare visits with her MND team and took everything in their stride. MND is a complex disease and I would recommend Gracious to those in need of personal care for a loved one.
My father was discharged from hospital with a palliative care package. Gracious fulfilled the care requirements in a very professional manner. They attended prior to care commencing taking detailed history on which to base individualised care. The staff were quiet but respectful. They were very kind to my father who found the whole concept of being cared for alien after always being independent. All of the staff knew what to do and never rushed or cut corners. They were very supportive to myself and my brother in difficult circumstances.
Gracious Healthcare Services Ltd wholeheartedly met our expectations. My father was fast-tracked for emergency 24-hour care in his own home. Within 24 hours a risk assessment/care plan had been put in place and carers from Gracious Healthcare began caring for my father. He took to the carers immediately and they to him. They treated him with respect and dignity above all else, which for someone 88 years of age is very important. His personal care was excellent and carers took care of his every need. They peg fed Dad and administered all medications safely and knowledgeably. Carers also managed his complex medical aids such as a secretions machine/NIV/Nebuliser etc. Above all else, they encouraged Dad to be independent to the end and they kept a smile on his face whilst also showing him gentle compassion. We were kept up to date with Dad's progress at all times by carers and management. My family and I would not hesitate to recommend Gracious Healthcare Service for the care of a loved one.
