View Full Details of Kingsway Care (Brighton, Hove & Worthing)Good quality personable carers. Efficient and adaptable. I would and have recommended Kingsway to friends and family. The service Kingsway offer far exceeds that experienced with another close family member.
Kingsway care has enabled me to manage the care of my mum in a way that allowed me to get on with life at the same time and not compromise my home and work life, also enabling me to go on holidays, etc. All the carers seemed to really love their jobs and go that extra mile for my mum. At first, they just supported my mum in her own home prompting and ensuring mum was safe, etc, reporting daily and letting me know of any concerns. Although my mum was fiercely independent they provided support in a way that enabled her to stay safe and sound at home. As her illness progressed and she spent more time in bed and eventually bed-bound they supported her at home to ensure she was able to die in dignity in her own home which was her main wish. Throughout, Kingsway's communication, advice, and professionalism were outstanding. I highly recommend them.
Kingsway Care have been looking after our mother for the last 4 months and all the carers are so loving and caring towards Mum. They always bring a smile to her face and she really looks forward to her visits. They have always been professional, flexible and extremely understanding and we would highly recommend them to anyone who needs a little tender care. They are extremely prompt and to work with Kingsway is very simple and they always honour their commitments. Fantastic team, we cannot thank them enough.
Although we were only with Kingsway for a few weeks, after which my mother was moved into residential care, they were proactive throughout this period and proved very flexible in the light of frequently changing requirements on our side. They also raised a safeguarding concern with the responsive care services when there was some confusion over who was supposed to be providing care at a particular time, a situation which had left my mother very vulnerable but which was then quickly and satisfactorily resolved thanks to Kingsway's actions. They also reported after visiting to my mother which allowed problems to be tackled appropriately and in a timely manner. Excellent and professional throughout.
I am an electric wheelchair user with a spinal cord injury and Kingsway Care have helped me live independently at University for the last two academic years. They have made my university experience special by giving me excellent personal care and food prep support in the mornings. All the caregivers went above and beyond in ensuring I got the best care possible and have truly become my friends. As a young person who needs care I was nervous about using a care agency as they are typically tailored for the elderly. However, Kingsway ensured I was matched with carers who I would get along with and were very flexible. This was so important for my busy and ever-changing schedule. I also love how Kingsway are passionate about improving the care sector for everyone and I am very grateful for how they supported me in running an occasional community Boccia session. Overall, Kingsway have been amazing for me. Highly recommend.
My Grandfather is 93, with heart failure and has been deteriorating for a while after a series of falls and accidents. He has not been open to support past initial help after being in hospital. I finally managed to convince him to access support, and I set up a consultation with Kingsway Care. He is very proud and has not wanted help in the past, so this has been progress. The team have been amazing. They have taken their time and explained how they can help. A month in and he now describes his carers as angels! They allow him a more dignified life. He feels seen and understood, and I can see the change him. He described with happy tears the joy of being able to have a shower - something I didn't know that he had been frightened of having. It gives me great comfort, as a Grandson, that he is getting more support than I can provide. Knowing someone is seeing him three times a week is reassuring. We've only just scratched the surface in the varied support that Kingsway provide.
Kingsway has supported my father, who has Alzheimer's disease, at home since January of this year, taking over from another agency. I've been extremely impressed with their thorough and highly professional approach. They do everything they can to ensure they are providing the highest quality of care and check that they are maintaining high standards. The carers have been very friendly and helpful with my father, and he generally really enjoys the care calls. The office staff have been friendly and very efficient. I would recommend this agency without reservation.
Both my parents are 92 years old and until recently fairly independent. The initial care was for one hour per day in the morning, but after my father's fall breaking his shoulder rendering his left arm inoperative we increased the care to 3 times per day. Kingsway management were very helpful visiting Dad in hospital to assess his mobility and arranging for the hospital bed for his use. The carers are excellent providing assistance not only with the daily chores but also with conversation. My mother calls the carers 'my friends'. I highly recommend Kingsway Care.
We contacted Kingsway in 2023 and were briefed by the managing director and said yes. When Mum then decided she could manage without, we cancelled Kingsway. Despite this, the managing director gave me advice about how to deal with NHS discharge issues. In 2024 when Mum was hospitalised again I was fighting another too early discharge and called Kingsway, the managing director came in at the weekend, spent an hour with Mum and worked out the best way forward (we were not asked to pay for either consultation although we offered to l). Kingsway then became involved in talking to the hospital team, again not charging us for their help. When Mum was discharged they started to provide care. I have brain damage and so have personal experience of care agencies and can say Kingsway are stand-alone platinum standard care agency. The head office are amazing; the careers care. They will do things other care agencies refuse to do. If Mum becomes ill they contact the GP and hospital and get them moving in a way I have never been able to.
We have found the care that Kingsway provide is excellent with whomever goes in doing their care visits. They provide individualised care and make their client feel very cared for, with either painting her nails to pick music from their own music list, for her to sing along to. They tend to focus well on her past interests and understand with her having dementia, the conversation is limited but important for her to feel listened to and valued. They help her feel she is independently living although needing care.
All of the carers who have come to attend to my husband are on time, very helpful and polite and caring.
My experience of Kingsway Care is that all of their carers are friendly, willing and cheerful in helping me to live as normally as possible in my own home. They arrive on time and on the rare occasion when delayed the management contact me promptly. Their keeping of extensive client notes and routine shadowing for new staff means I get appropriate care from whoever attends. This variety of carers I find stimulating to talk to and with whom to joke.
From my first contact with Kingsway last summer when my dad was in hospital, I have been nothing but impressed with the care and professionalism of the Kingsway team. The support the Kingsway caregivers have given my elderly father since he was discharged from hospital has been consistently excellent. Nothing is too much trouble, the caregivers are punctual, professional, friendly and caring and I know my dad looks forward to their visits. From my professional role I am aware that recruiting and retaining excellent carers is really challenging, but Kingsway seem to excel with their recruitment. Many organisations say they work in a client-centred way but in my experience, few actually consistently deliver regarding this. In my view the Kingsway team absolutely do, and right from the point of initial assessment onwards, this has been so clear to see. I cannot recommend the Kingsway team highly enough.
Always ready to help, always ready to adapt to my changing requirements, at short notice if necessary. I would (and do) recommend them to everyone I know.
I cannot speak too highly of the care and treatment I have received over the last two months. Nothing has been too much trouble. All carers have been great, friendly, personable, understanding and considerate. I wouldn't have wished for better. I am greatly indebted to Kingsway Care.
I know that management work hard behind the scenes to ensure things go well and this shows with the overall quality of carers who come to us for the past eighteen-plus months.
Kingsway caregivers have been a godsend. After spending 4 months in hospital, my daughter arranged caregivers from Kingsway Care. I was hesitant at first. Now I wouldn’t be without them. They call in daily - they instantly cheer me up as they are so caring. I see my manager consistently who gives me support and also updates me on the other parts of Kingsway I could use if I were able to get out more - nothing is too much trouble. My meds are all collected and put on order by them all. I have consistency of careers which helps but having said that I really like everyone they have sent to help me. I would also like to thank you of the team - every time we call the office they know me and everything about my care package.
My partner has Alzheimer's/vascular dementia and is 68 years old. Last year, we did not have any support until incontinence set in. We started having help from Kingsway Care basically as companionship, but this soon developed to personal care which we receive twice a day now as the condition has worsened. All the caregivers have been fantastic - patient, timely and professional. The management support for us both, and for the staff they employ, has been hands-on, considerate, flexible and friendly. If we had not found Kingsway Care I really do not know what we would have done. They have eased a terribly difficult situation.
I always look forward to seeing that friendly, smiling face, when I answer the door in the morning. Followed by expert attention to all my needs. I don’t have the same carer every day but they all provide the same outstanding service.
Kingsway Care are without exception a wonderful, kind community of people. They cared for my mother over a period of 18 months until her death in December 2022. Throughout this time the care has been exceptional. My mother looked forward to her daily visits and he chats with her carer whilst being attended to. During my mother's last weeks, the kindness and empathy shown to her was fantastic and the carers sat with her in her final hours, soothing and reassuring her. My father, brothers and I cannot thank Kingsway enough.
