View Full Details of Walfinch East BarnetMy husband is receiving palliative care The carers from the agency are gentle, patient and responsive to his needs. I have found Walfinch to be well managed, reliable and supportive. During what is a stressful time for me. I feel that the carers and the agency itself are like good friends that are there for you when you need them. ,
I am dipping my toe into 'caring' as I assume that later in my 90s I will need more and more. I do not need personal care (and may go for assisted dying when I do!) and sometimes wonder what I can ask of the excellent carers. My primary need is more mobility (medical and other appointments) and Walfinch has met this so well. The carers I have met are not only professionally trained but widely educated making visits a pleasure. Very good start.
My mum's had great help, we're so grateful for what you're doing, my mum has had mental health issues but the tablets have worked well. the workers have been brilliant. one staff member in particular has been great so what is there to say but thank you.
I cannot say enough praise and thanks at the fantastic care and support received for my dad. The carers were so amazing and helpful. It made Dad's last months bearable. You went above and beyond and made such a difference. Thank you and bless you!
I would like to thank the team at Walfinch for the care and patience they gave to my 97-year-old father. The office staff were understanding and very helpful. The carers were amazing. They had great empathy for both Dad and Mum (also 97) and always very attentive to Dad's needs. In a crisis they all went that extra mile. Thank you all.
This agency took over Mum’s care in July 2023. From the beginning everyone at the agency has been very professional, caring, and accommodating. I particularly appreciate the time and dedication given to finding the right carers for Mum’s particular situation. Contact with the agency is easy and they are always available to talk and listen to suggestions, give advice, and deal with any concerns we may have had along the way. As a family, we have been very happy with the service and would happily recommend the whole team.
Walfinch cared for my elderly father when he was extremely ill and immobile. The gentleness, love and compassion shown by Walfinch staff to my father was truly heartwarming. I cannot praise them enough.
The service that we received from this care agency was wonderful and very caring, the carer that came to attend to my partner's needs was always on time and pleasant in nature. They always did their work with the utmost importance. They were very good with the safety side of things and always asked if he was ok. Was the nicest person you would ever meet, if at any time I needed extra help I would definitely use this company.
We used Walfinch Care for four months to care for my father. I initially booked two care visits a day because he was having cancer treatment and needed help taking his medication. The manager came to see us and took the time to learn what his care needs were, put the care package into place very quickly, and was able to respond quickly with more hours when his condition deteriorated. Eventually came the sad news that Dad's cancer was terminal, and we decided to keep him at home rather than move him to a hospice. This was only possible due to the excellent care provided by the carers at Walfinch. By the end, he had a live-in carer plus several visits per day. All of the carers went above and beyond and really looked after him as though he were their own father. The manager visited regularly and kept in close contact with us and with the other agencies involved. Thanks to them, my dad was peaceful and comfortable right to the end. I definitely recommend Walfinch Care.
The manager director and the team at Walfinch East Finchley were very efficient in providing personal care on a temporary basis whilst one of my mother's carers went back to their native country for three months. The manager director first assessed my mother's situation and criteria, determined what was required, and compiled a list of prospective candidate carers to look after my mother. The carers that were chosen were fully trained to work with my mother's daily routine and blended into their roles with ease. The manager director was always available to assist our family with any concerns and was always able to find a solution to any problems that arose. Having worked with various Care Agencies in the past, I can personally vouch for the professionalism and bespoke care package that Walfinch East Barnet were able to provide. The manager director worked closely with our family to ensure that the care provided was of a very high and personal standard, which we are very grateful for.
We have been using Walfinch East Barnet's services since April of this year, since our family member needed live-in care and after some very unsatisfactory services from other providers. My cousin is now much happier, safer, in better health and more alert. We have been able to breathe a collective sigh of relief for the first time in two and a half years. It is not that problems never arise, they do with elderly people, but they are taken seriously and addressed quickly. The systems the agency has set up work well and the carer understands her role and responsibilities. The carer is both very kind and respectful to her client but also firm enough to ensure he is safe. They have formed quite a bond of trust and liking. He is treated as an individual.
Walfinch provides regular carers to attend to my elderly mother. The carers are good quality, friendly and reliable. I have found the management to be professional and Walfinch clearly takes a lot of care to provide a good service. I really get the feeling that they put the needs of the client first and I would not hesitate to recommend them.
I live abroad so it has been very reassuring to have friendly carers who clearly enjoy chatting with my father whilst ensuring all our requirements are met: checking he has taken his medication and the meals for the day have been planned. I appreciate that there is a daily review that one member of the family can access so it is possible to check if ever there is a problem. I appreciate the flexibility of the service that providing enough notice is given we can cancel the care for a time such as holidays or when work has been done on the house. Also, the use of time spent with the carers is varied, not always a chat over a cup of coffee, walks and even a walk to the local shop with a view to prepping a meal together the next day. This is much appreciated. Communication, when there have been any major staff changes, has been helpful and the continuity as far as possible of the same carers so trust can be built up. We are very happy overall with this care company and would recommend it.
The carer has been caring for my mother, who is 92 and has dementia, since June 2021. She provides full care Tuesday-Saturday from 9 to 5. The carer is kind, caring, thoughtful and considerate, arrives punctually and performs all her duties diligently. She copes well with Mum, despite her being stubborn, uncooperative and occasionally becoming aggressive. Having a carer has enabled Mum to continue living in her own home. Walfinch is a pleasure to deal with and is very accommodating in providing extra cover when required. Reliable and flexible, highly recommended.
My wife lives at home but has advanced Alzheimer's. Walfinch provides a carer one day a week to keep her company while I get a morning "off duty". The carer originally introduced, and with whom my wife seemed to adapt very well, unfortunately then became unavailable due to a family crisis (these things happen!). The intended substitute, who had shadowed her, then came down with Covid before she could start, so a replacement was provided at short notice - and without the chance of an introduction. This lady tells me that she has some years of experience in handling dementia cases. Unfortunately, because of bad experiences with a different care agency, my wife becomes very agitated when this carer arrives, but she does manage to calm my wife quite quickly. So, why is my rating "Good" but not "Excellent"? Only because the carer(s) normally do not arrive on time. Usually, they are 15 to 20 minutes late, which is a large chunk out of the very limited time to myself.
All the team are really very nice and some, in particular, are really thoughtful and know me so well. They know how to time things to get everything done. Very considerate. Highly reliable and dependable. Would highly recommend.
