View Full Details of Alcedo Care WiganMy experience with Alcedo Care over the past four years has been nothing short of exceptional. Their friendly, reliable, knowledgeable, and caring staff have consistently gone above and beyond to provide outstanding support. The personalized approach, coupled with their unwavering dedication to excellence, has made a significant difference in my life. I am deeply grateful for the care and compassion they have shown, and I wholeheartedly recommend Alcedo Care to anyone in need of high-quality support services.
We have needed to rely on Alcedo Care for help when our own carers have been unavailable, they have proved to be professional, reliable and consistent, which has meant the stress of difficult situations has been very much reduced. Over the summer we have had one of our own carers off work on long term sick, without the help of Alcedo I would have struggled to look after my son properly, they have been a god send to me and my family.
My carers have become family to me, they are always there with a kind word or an ear. They are always great with my meds and if any issues arise they are prompt to fix them. They are kind and compassionate.
Absolutely brilliant company and helped give me a lot more independence after becoming disabled. My family life has improved greatly by their wonderful carers and I feel like they are part of the family themselves. My two young babies adore them and I don't know what we would do without them ourselves.
This service is mediocre at best. My main concern is medication and timing of visits. But there are other concerns as well. Inconsistency of carers and their practice. Which is fundamental to good practice in dementia care. Some carers do not read the tasks. There have been at least 3 medication errors. A lot of the staff accept Mum's first refusal to have personal care or change her inco pads, instead of trying to encourage participation. I appreciate that there are time constraints, but some carers really don't try. One carer is excellent and never fails to maintain Mum's dignity and hygiene, but she is the only exception. A lot of the carers lack initiative and are very task-orientated. Some of them are very loud, which Mum does not always appreciate. I thought that having carers to support Mum at key times during the day would be a source of support and much-needed respite from my caring role. Unfortunately it has been a huge source of stress!
The staff are brilliant they sort out all our family member's needs. They are very caring and listen and are considered, understanding. They can't do enough for her.
One member of staff in particular is a lovely lady who always goes above and beyond. The carers always make sure all tasks are completed for me and my dog. They are always so respectful to myself and our house. No tasks are too small or too big for them. I love being a client of Alcdeo.
We have been with Alcedo Care for a year. Love how the staff are trained for individual packages. Very supportive of client with complex needs and parent, as we come as one. Worth every penny for the support we've both received in difficult circumstances, plus advertised them on my daughter's global page and got a lot of likes.
I am very happy with my regular - they go above and beyond for myself and my husband. Especially one of the carers.
I found all of them very pleasant and helpful. I have gained my independence back thanks to them.
I am the mother of your client. You have wonderful girls that work there. You try to make sure there is consistency so that my daughter is not upset which she would be if no consistency. My daughter has autism and they complete her needs every time with dignity kept for her, sometimes I even get to have a small chat as I am housebound due to my arthritis. The girls we have now are lovely and my daughter has built a bond with them. Not sure if I could name them but they are fantastic with my daughter. Thank you, they do the job I no longer can and they are fab doing it!
The care I have received, primarily from one carer has been outstanding. Because of my autism/anxiety, it can be difficult to find the right balance between encouraging my capabilities and independence when I'm feeling more able and being supportive and patient when I'm less able, but one carer has balanced this perfectly, and I could not be happier with the care they have provided. I never feel patronised or isolated which is often the case with others in my life. They are a credit to the company and whenever I think about or talk about Alcedo Care, I will think of the great experiences the carers have provided me with. I have been able to experience and achieve more under her care within two months than I was able to for many years alone. My only critique of the care overall has been some difficulty ensuring I get the same person each time, with plenty of notice in advance of the hours which are important factors with my autism and anxiety disorder but I understand that this is difficult to achieve.
Very good service was provided by Alcedo Wigan. All shifts were covered, no cancellations which, apart from the quality of carer, is the number 1 consideration for us. They were even able to cover 2 extra shifts that we needed at short notice. Good communication from the office and carers alike.
Alcedo Care Wigan have gone above and beyond for my brother, could not fault them whatsoever. Always pleasant and on time my family would be lost without Alcedo Care Wigan, thank you so much for all you have done
What more can I say 5 stars, 10 stars, brilliant company. My mum has really become so much more settled, carers are outstanding. There is never a problem when I phone the office. The deputy manager has been my rock and everyone in the office. Would highly recommend Alcedo, finally my mum is getting the perfect care and understanding of her Dementia and all her needs. This has been a great help to me as I have been mum's 24/7 carer for a while now and I totally feel so happy to have you, supporting not only mum but me, total professionalism by all staff. Carers are outstanding, several in particular. I've met these carers and mum loves every one of you that visit her. If anyone is thinking about a 100% care provider Alcedo is the one I would say is simply the best. Appreciate you all.
The care my husband received was exceptional. He was treated with kindness, gentleness and with the utmost respect so that the last weeks of his life were made as comfortable as possible. My grateful thanks to all concerned.
So far, very happy with the care package put in place. The carers have interacted with my dad and have encouraged him to chat (he's a quiet one!) It's a relief knowing he's safe in your hands.
5 months ago I was struggling to look after my nan who is 87 years of age and lives on her own. After months of trying to find homecare, I came across Alcedo Care Wigan, I rang them up to see if somebody could come out and see what they could do and help me. They sent a young lady the day after out to meet me and nan and went through what you as a company provide in homecare. I was very happy and started that week, since then I can't praise the staff any more, the carers go above and beyond for the care we receive for my nan and I am very grateful. She has not managed to get out last year due to covid, but since being at Alcedo Care, she has been doing a lot better and now she is going out every week with the carers like to the garden centre (which she loves her garden), tea rooms, shopping, arts and crafts etc. All I can say really about Alcedo Care is that the company is fantastic and would highly recommend.
This agency offered us as a family the world. We said what hours and what days we needed, yes no problem said the manager that came out, only to find they cannot provide. Staff being told different times, no communication from management when they say they will phone back. Promises, promises but always let down. All they said is sorry, they don’t think about how it would affect my child with autism to be told no dancing this week. The turnover of staff is appalling, but having said that the ones who have come here have been amazing and they are a loss to the company. If I had found this out before we would never have signed up. On joining this company it was a relief for me and my family, to eventually have a break, from all the stress and anxiety. We could not even go to the shop, have any respite, and because the care hasn’t been up to standard as promised, my and my family's well-being has significantly decreased, which causes so much stress in our house and worry.
Submitting for my Mum who has dementia. I would like to say how thankful I am to all at Alcedo, who made my Mum feel valued and special. Extremely supportive and friendly staff with great caring attitudes. Plenty of laughter had by all. I would not hesitate to recommend Alcedo to others. Thank you so much.
