View Full Details of Home 1st LtdI'm a physically disabled woman, and I've been using care providers for over 20 years. I started using Home 1st for my care needs late this summer as I wasn't getting what I needed from my previous care provider. Home 1st immediately gave me what I required for my care needs i.e. Female carers who have a full UK driving license and can drive me in my car, this was a great relief to me as I was very depressed at not being able to get out and about in my car, I wasn't living, I was merely existing and now I feel like I'm actually 'living' the life I want to live again. I've had problems with ladies and the language barrier and sometimes attitudes of ladies, and ladies who don't really 'care', but at the moment my care is good. Brexit caused dreadful problems within the care industry, as unfortunately, we lost a lot of the very good, eastern European carers and the standard of carers is sadly not what it once was. But hopefully, with better training and better pay, this will improve.
The carers are very kind and supportive and give Mom and Dad choices and show concern if there are any health problems. They chat to Mom and Dad and don't rush them and they make sure Mom and Dad have what they need before they leave. The managers are very helpful and pleasant and answer calls promptly and sort out any queries they also get in touch with the g p if they need to regarding health problems and are always willing and show concern towards Mom and Dad and do what they can to help them.
I am more than happy with the service, my carers are lovely and nice to meet the new ones. My 2 usual carers are very professional, excellent service from the office. I have all the support I need and know if I need anything I can just ask.
Really friendly and punctual. Always looks clean and tidy and wears appropriate apron gloves etc. She is always willing to help out in any way she can. Management was great too. Very friendly and again professional. I would highly recommend it.
I engaged Home 1st to look after my dad for an afternoon. I had never used a care agency before and I was quite nervous about it. However, I need not have worried as the standard of care was excellent. It allowed me to enjoy an afternoon out with friends without worrying if my dad would be ok. Very sadly however my dad passed away suddenly a few days later which was heartbreaking. This is a real pity as I was intending to use them on a more regular basis to help me with my dad's care. I would therefore have no hesitation in recommending their services.
