View Full Details of Home Instead (West Dunbartonshire, Argyll & Bute and Arran)We reached out to Home Instead to ask if they could provide care for my parents at our daughter's wedding. From start to finish dealing with Home Instead we were impressed. My parents both suffer from dementia and without care in place they would not have been able to attend the wedding. They live in England and the wedding was in Scotland so it was not possible to use their regular carers. The carer that was allocated to us was fantastic. Her care for my parents went above and beyond our expectations. She ensured that they were safe and happy 100% of the time. She fitted in with our family and friends completely and we were able to enjoy the wedding without having to worry about my parents at all. Thank you so much to the carer and Home Instead for your professional manner throughout the whole experience.
The service provided by the Home Instead carers enabled me to enjoy a much-needed holiday with my friends.
My husband suffers from dementia, now lacks capacity and is now in a care home but I know he agrees with my review. I myself am a minor client with only two hours of care per week. From August 2022-January 2023 we had a carer sitting up every night 10.30 pm-07:30 am and four separate hours per day. I can't speak highly enough of the service we received. The carers without exception, are efficient, caring, kind, thoughtful, friendly, and approachable, though diverse ages and personalities, they are a team. The owner only employs the best carers and is himself exemplary. He has become a friend and goes to see my husband. I always knew who was coming, they arrived on time, unlike the local authority care we previously had. I am on my own and one of the ladies that now come, we were unfortunate to suffer the death of our son-in-law and the severe illness of his wife, our daughter, the company has been most supportive. The service is expensive but well with it. I would not hesitate to recommend the company to anyone.
The timing of and length of visits are excellent (1.5 hours am and pm) as are the willingness and flexibility of staff who care for both client and carer. Management are approachable and friendly. Individual client needs are considered and can vary or change. Preferences are sought and whole person care practised. I have discussed this with my mother during a window when she was more lucid and she smiled for agreement. It is good to have practical housework or shopping included. Her care is 24/7 and the pace she needs is understood.
There were a few changes of staff initially which was quite unsettling for my partner but once that was sorted out everything went well. I was pleased with the care and support my partner received from the home care provider. I felt comfortable with all the staff that came and they gave me a much-needed break every two weeks that they were here.
Home Instead (West Dunbartonshire, Argyll & Bute and Arran) carers have enabled us to take time away and now a holiday without having to worry about my father-in-law's care and safety. They built a great relationship with us over several months carrying out companionship visits to get to know him and us. We have found managers and carers to be friendly, courteous and kind. They have prepared meals and done some cleaning and carried out welfare checks which have been invaluable for us when we have needed some respite. I would not hesitate to recommend them.
Flexible and as proactive as they can in view of the lack of available qualified carers. Home Instead has provided the much-needed support to keep my elderly and unwell parents safe in their time of need. This has been huge peace of mind for me, their daughter, and I remain grateful for the continued support which the company continues to provide in an area of Scotland so low on resources.
My mum has a carer who visits regularly and provides friendship and emotional support. My mum was initially reluctant to accept the service but was reassured by the staff who visited her and explained things. She has built up a lovely relationship with the carer and looks forward to her visits. When different carers came in, recently my mum became anxious and confused; it's so important to know and trust your carers.
Home Instead has provided excellent care for my father over the last year. He has enjoyed the company and care every day for a couple of hours for a hot lunch and a friendly chat, and it has given our family peace of mind knowing that he is not on his own. The carers are also fantastic at picking up on any health issues or other issues that need to be sorted and give more than 100% of their dedication, energy and kindness to my father and his needs.
Home Instead (West Dunbartonshire) provided a fantastic service for my husband. This was over a 5 day period, two hours each morning. With this service, I was able to have a 5-day break with friends. The care given to my husband was first class and he really appreciated the help and time given to him.
I can't speak highly enough of the help and support given to my sister and me in only a short time. I am very grateful to your staff for their thoughtfulness and don't know what we would have done without them. Their wealth of experience in the care sector and knowledge of services and resources has been invaluable. I greatly appreciate that staff were willing to go out of their way to make sure my sister was safe. I only wish they could have carried on for longer, as she was really pleased with the help and would have enjoyed getting to know them better. (Sadly she had to be readmitted to hospital.)
On each of the three visits your carers made my husband and myself feel at ease and treated my husband and I with the utmost care and respect. You're staff and service are excellent wold highly recommend.
My dear Mother required some extra support, I am absolutely delighted with the quality of customer care my mother and myself have received from the Manager of Care. So professional in all aspects, explained all we would expect so well and had placed my mother at ease. The carer so far has been a very compassionate lady who is very attentive to my mother and wants to do the best by my mother. We can’t thank the team enough for the professional service.
