View Full Details of Home Instead (East Fife)Home Instead East Fife has been supporting my mother-in-law since February 2024. The level of support has far exceeded the expectations of my family and I. From the start, the overall service is highly professional. Every aspect is delivered exactly as promised. But most important are the carers. My mother-in-law deeply values the companionship and friendship they have all provided. This has made her very happy and contented. As a family, we are deeply grateful.
I have been my husband's carer for quite a number of years as he has quite a few health problems including heart and lung problems. Since December 2022 he was diagnosed with cancer of the liver and no treatment prescribed due to his heart and lung condition. My daughter felt I needed a break and found out about Home Instead. With their help of 4 hours a day over the 3 days I was away and arranging family support as well my husband was supported very adequately without him feeling any distress resulting in me being able to relax and make the most of the arrangements. Home Instead was an excellent service with a good understanding of the type of support needed to give my husband confidence in the staff and an enjoyable experience.
My care needs are financially supported by my local council and the Independent Living Fund. Ideally, I would employ just one care agency. Realistically...impressed by the care you gave to my mum, I turned to you also for some regular sleep and annual leave cover. My 'designated lead carer' from you was thankfully available for both in January. We work well together. She happily tends to my needs without constant instruction and has become increasingly aware of my ever-changing condition, ready to address it accordingly. Caring for someone in their own home is not just a list of tasks. Helping your client enjoy life despite illness and disability is very important. Feeling valued, encouraging and supporting 'my interests' - music making through my piano and my voice - singing helps my impaired lung capacity, being my helping hand whilst I create cakes - all matter to me and I hope to give pleasure to others. First class service from the ladies who come on a Thursday. After losing my wife, they have filled a gap to the highest standard.
This is the first time I have visited their offices as usually communication is by email. The manager and staff could not be nicer to me visiting personally. As to the service our carer gives to Dad, it's very good, attending to any of his needs. Thanks.
Making memories for a special grandad. From our first contact with the care manager, we were in safe hands. Our daughter’s wedding was weeks away, we wanted Gran and Grandad there. The manager captured our requirements in a caring way, she understood the importance of family and came to Grandad’s house together with her chosen carer. “What a lovely girl my carer was, she was at my side all day and helped me to enjoy my wedding meal. Gran and I were delighted to be able to spend the day in the hotel, so much better and more memorable than looking at wedding pictures after the event. Please thank her, she was brilliant.” The carer is passionate about looking after the elderly, showing she cares in so many ways. She managed Grandad out and back from the restrooms, she travelled to and from the wedding with Grandad, making sure both were comfortably in bed before she left them. We wouldn’t hesitate to return in the times ahead.
The girls are very pleasant and willing. Sometimes I feel they rush through showering and dressing and the bed is often pretty roughly made. All housework jobs are done very well.
We are having a great experience with Home Instead (East Fife), from our initial visit through to our current carer, they are exceeding all expectations. Long may this continue! Our carer is thoughtful, compassionate, keeps very busy and fits in perfectly with our lifestyle. A real joy to see the interaction between carer/client each day, especially their initial meeting in a morning. It gives me great joy and confidence to me leaving for my work each day. Thank you.
Home Instead (East Fife) have an excellent bank of carers so could offer great support even when the lead carer wasn't available. They were very flexible and gave great comfort to the family. They also had availability when others didn't and communication was good.
Home Instead has provided my father with several hours of care over the last two months so I think I am now in a position to provide some feedback. I have found both the caring staff and the management very helpful. The management took time to ask precise and relevant questions in order to gain a comprehensive understanding of my father's needs, demonstrating not only professionalism but flexibility and concern. They have also returned my calls promptly and taken on board my requests. Despite unknowns related to recruitment and provision of caring staff, they have sorted these matters out within the time frame they initially announced. My father's main carer is competent, friendly, easy to talk to, and experienced. (So far, I cannot comment on the secondary carers as I have yet to meet them). I would recommend this agency.
Happy overall with care - one-hour, Monday-Friday.
