Review of

MiHomecare (Barnet, Camden & Finchley)

from A A (Client) published on 25 November 2024

Mi Homecare is the worst agency for any patient to work with, extremely rude care workers. On many occasions I have complained about my care not being met, the staff refuse to discipline their care workers and only concentrate on getting more contracts.
A complete mismanagement.
I had a few care workers
who constantly skin their teeth so disrespectful to a paying customer. Another care worker screaming and shouting at me saying she has a mental illness, she does not know why she is being sent to my home.
On top of that on my first visit, a care worker refused to bring me a glass of water from the kitchen saying it was a health and safety issue but rather preferred to bring me water to drink from the toilet sink!
Complained to the recruitment manager which fell on deaf ears, no action was taken no follow up, not even an apology. All that management care for is receiving commissions on how many staff they have working.

There is one particular carer with this agency that has been absolutely amazing. He is not only an excellent ambassador for this agency but an ambassador for mankind. He has helped my father come out of his shell and made him realise that life is worth living!

Worst people you can get. They do not care about anything. They are rude and refuse to do daily tasks within the care plan. They also do not complete any tasks set. If they are looking after your loved ones I would avoid them at all costs.

I have been very satisfied with all the agents I have had helping me. I have been at Mihomescare since December 2015 and had a variety of carer for different lengths of time.

The carers that visit my mum are very good and they make her feel happy when they come.
I don't know what I would do without them and I am able to keep my night job and rest during the day because they warm up her meals and they are very patient with her.

Constant change of carers and never on time.

Reply from Amanda Sherlock, Director Care Quality at MiHomecare (Queensbury)

We are sorry to hear about your concerns regarding consistency of carers. The team at Brent work hard to try and ensure visits are at the time of the customers preference and to provide consistent care workers. We will review your concerns and hope to address these as quickly as possible

Carers are all very clean, dressed in the uniform, also very polite and considerate. It is very nice to be treated as a human being not just a body. I enjoy having a shower and my hair washed, in fact they carry out their duties very well. I just wish I could move my body more to make their job easier.

As my carers find lunchtime and bedtime is a rush could I amend my times to:
7.00 - 8.30 Morning
12.45 - 13.30 Lunch
19.30 - 20.15 Bed Time

doing away with my tea time.

Every carer is different. I feel that everyone should call out when they come in, some don't feel it's necessary. Most are very good and know what they have to do, a few just do what they can get away with, but the greater majority are excellent and cheerful and chat with me which is important when
you live on your own.
